History

Longgang Elementary School was originally established as the " Xia Kunyu Separate Classroom of Yancheng Public School " on April 1, 1919 , and used a local temple as a temporary classroom. On April 24, 1921, it became independent as " Xia Kunyu Public School ", located in Xia Kunyu, Yongningzhuang . On October 1, 1936, Yongning Village was abandoned and merged into Tainan City , and Xiakunyu Public School was also incorporated into Tainan City. On April 1, 1941, the school was restructured into " Zhensha National School ", and its address at this time was No. 390, Xiakunyu, Tainan City, Tainan Prefecture . After World War II, the school was changed to " Longgang National School ". On August 1, 1968, it was renamed " Longgang National Primary School " due to the implementation of the nine-year national education .

The Longgang Elementary School building was damaged in the Meinong earthquake in Kaohsiung in 2016 and became a dangerous building. The old school building was demolished in 2018 and rebuilt in 2020. The appearance of the new school building has a marine image to echo the school's environment near the coast, and has won the title of Tainan The second municipal public works quality award.
